 Coach Mack Brown and

Over 100 Businesses Come Together to

Help the Children Affected By Hurricane Katrina

AUSTIN, TX ? On Friday, September 2nd Coach Mack Brown took time out of his busy pre-game planning to support two local organizations raising money for the children affected by Hurricane Katrina.

On Thursday, Sept. 8th you can feed your soul by simply dining at local Austin eateries or shop one of our local businesses and the proceeds will help the children suffering from Hurricane Katrina.  Join the Greater Austin Restaurant Association and Choose Austin First in a city-wide fundraiser to help raise money for the children affected by Hurricane Katrina.  Participating members will donate a percentage of that day?s sales to the American Red Cross, with the proceeds directed specifically to children in need of aid.

?As of Wednesday, September 7th we have over 100 restaurants and businesses donating proceeds to the kids affected by the hurricane, we are very proud of all the businesses involved and know that every dollar helps a child in the Gulf Coast states,? said Mark Negro, co-owner of Mangia Pizza.

A growing list of participating restaurants and businesses including Amy?s Ice Creams, Mangia Pizza, Carmelo?s Italian Restaurant and Chinatown on Greystone can be found at www.restaurantville.com and www.chooseaustinfirst.com.
