SEND A MANGIA PIZZA FOR CHRISTMAS!!!

LAST DAY TO ORDER PIZZA ONLINE IS WEDNESDAY, DEC. 19

Sending a delicious Heart-Shaped Mangia Pizza is a unique and scrumptious way to express your love, long distance, to someone special for the holidays.  To ensure arrival of our overnight pizza shipment throughout the continental U.S. before Christmas, Mangia reminds everyone to place their online pizza orders no later than Wednesday, December 19.  Online pizza orders placed on Wednesday will arrive to friends and loved ones Friday, December 21.

Ordering a Mangia pizza online for overnight delivery is as easy as going to www.mangiapizza.com, clicking on "Order a Pizza" and then clicking on the pie of your choice.  Just a few clicks later and the pizza order is in Mangia's hands.  The pizzas are prepared and half-baked, flash-frozen, kept in the freezer overnight and shipped the following day.   All the recipient has to do is simply add the Mangia sauce that is included with the shipment and finish cooking the pizza for 15 to 20 minutes.  Shipping is done via a special arrangement with Federal Express®.

Eight wonderful Chicago stuffed pies are available online for nationwide pizza delivery (www.mangiapizza.com):

¨           Heart-Shaped Spinach

¨           Heart-Shaped Veggie

¨           Spinach (our healthy pizza and a vegetarian's delight)

¨           Chicago Special (green peppers, mushrooms, onions and sausage)

¨           Cheese

¨           Carnivore (two layers of beef, sausage and pepperoni)

¨           Football Pizza (with Carnivore ingredients)  - Football shaped... laces included!!!

Mangia's Football-Shaped Pizzas are a great gift for any fan during the college football bowl season.  Share your team spirit by sending a football pizza to someone you know will be watching the big game.

For the uninitiated, Mangia's Chicago style pizza is like a pie. A layer of bottom crust, cheese and your choice of ingredients in the middle, then another layer of dough above with Mangia's own pizza sauce to top it all off.   All pizzas are 12 inches and serve three to four people.  Prices range from $18 for the Cheese pizza to $25 for the football pizza.

There's a very unique connection between Austin and Chicago stuffed pies too.  Ike Sewell, a football star and graduate from the University of Texas at Austin in the 1920's, invented the Chicago stuffed pizza while working at a Chicago pizzeria in 1943.  Mangia brought Ike's Chicago pizza idea back to his gridiron home of Austin and now the whole nation can enjoy his creation.

The idea of making Mangia pizza available nationwide through ecommerce pizza shipping has been in Mangia ownership's heads for a long time.  "We've had customers complimenting us on how great our stuffed pies are for years," Mangia founder and co-owner Jeff Sayers relates.  "Many of these customers were U.T. students and as their graduation approached, they would tell me that they hoped we would open a restaurant in the town where they would soon be living.  Well, as the saying goes, if the customer can't come to Mangia, let Mangia come to the customer, and now we are."
